Introduction to Optionomics
Options intelligence for serious traders
Welcome to Optionomics
Options markets move fast: prints hit the tape, positioning builds at strikes, and volatility shifts across expiries. Optionomics brings that stack into one place—live flow when your plan includes it, positioning and risk charts for today and for history, and optional AI that highlights setups and explains dense metrics in plain language.
You might use the product to prepare for the open, monitor names on your watchlist, research a single stock’s structure, or study how regimes looked in the past. The common thread is visibility: fewer blind spots when you decide what to do next.
Before You Start
Optionomics provides data and analysis, not trading advice. We show you what the tape and our analytics surface; you choose whether and how to trade, hedge, or sit out.
If you are new to options, learn the contract mechanics and risks before using live market data. Start with small, focused workflows and verify what each metric represents.
The Platform at a Glance
Navigation Essentials
| Element | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Watchlist | Your favorite stocks, always visible at the top |
| Search | Find any stock instantly |
| Notifications | Bell icon — real-time alerts and updates |
| Sidebar | Main workspaces including For You, Market Overview, Stock Analysis, Terminal, AI tools, live data, disclosures, Historical Analytics, Builder, and Alerts |
| For You page | Your personalized dashboard — pick widget tiles, their order, width, and per-tile settings (symbols, lookback, limits) |
| Stock Analysis page | Per-symbol workspace — opens via the sidebar or by searching a ticker. The eight daily-analytics charts (Gamma, Delta, Premium, Volume, Skew, Term, Vol Surface, Heatmap) and the Chart, Radar, Earnings, Flow, UOA, and Ideas tabs all live here as a single tab bar |
Three Ways to Analyze
Think of the platform in three layers: what is printing right now, where positioning and volatility sit today, and how those measures behaved over years when you zoom out.
1. Options Flow — What’s Trading Now
Flow is the pulse of the options market: aggressive sweeps, negotiated blocks, size versus open interest, and unusual prints that do not look like everyday hedging. When your subscription includes live flow, you can watch the tape as trades occur, filter and sort, and cross-link to a symbol’s deeper tools.
You will also find Unusual Activity (highlighted prints worth a second look), dark pool equity context where available, a flow chart that overlays activity on price, and the Terminal for a multi-panel workflow aimed at active sessions.
→ Deeper tour: Options Flow · Unusual Activity · Dark Pool Trades · Terminal
2. Daily Analytics — Today’s Positioning (on the Stock Analysis page)
Daily analytics answer structural questions for the selected session: where open interest and modeled exposure concentrate, how implied volatility varies by strike (skew) and expiry (term structure), and where premium and volume are distributed. These charts are built for one symbol at a time so you can connect recent flow with the chain snapshot.
All of them live on the Stock Analysis page as tabs—open Stock Analysis from the sidebar (or search any symbol) and walk the tab bar: Gamma · Delta · Premium · Volume · Skew · Term · Vol Surface · Heatmap, alongside Chart, Radar, and other plan-dependent tabs.

3. Historical Lab - Patterns Over Time
The Historical Lab lets you select available measures from a searchable library and compare them on one timeline. Use standardized or native scales, add price candles, review statistics and correlations, inspect source observations, and export CSV data.

AI Features
On Theta and Vega, AI is available in several different shapes—some are on-demand (you click), some run in the background (scoring and feeds), and some are conversational. Together they reduce friction when charts are new to you or when the tape is too wide to read line by line.
- AI Insights (✨) — Click the sparkle on a chart or metric for a plain-language readout of what you are looking at, grounded in that screen’s context.
- AI Assistant — Ask follow-up questions about concepts, how to read a panel, or how to think about a scenario; answers are educational, not personalized trade instructions.
- AI Market Insight — A daily market briefing at the top of Market Overview that summarizes the tape and suggests what to look at next.
- Trade Ideas — A feed of single-name setups: direction, strategy label, entry/target/stop style levels, optional explanation and confidence—built for quick scanning and follow-up research.
- Live Market Commentary — A market-wide narrative feed: short posts when flow, sentiment, or volatility meaningfully shift, with categories and severity so you can filter noise.
- Earnings Analysis — AI-generated summaries, highlights and risks, reported metrics versus estimates, forward guidance, and financial charts when the required filing data is available.
